There are many different styles of learning. Visual, using images, pictures, and colors, and visual media to help you learn. Aural, using sound rhyme and music in learning. Verbal, using techniques that involve speaking, and writing. Physical, focusing on sensations that would be expected in each scenario. Solitary, using self study skills. Social, working with others. Logical, aiming to understand the reasons behind the content and skills. I thought there were only two main styles of learning auditory, and visual. Until I read the article on Edudemics website, “The 7 Styles Of Learning: Which Works For You?”. I find myself using different learning styles depending of the subject.
In math I tend to be more of a logical learner, it makes more sense if I know why we are doing the steps. In lit and history, I am more of a verbal learner, I prefer hearing definitions, and dates rather than reading them. And in science I tend to be more of a physical learner, I found that experiments help me to understand instead of just hearing the results without proof. Figuring out what methods of learning to use took quite awhile. There was tons of trial and error. Failure is hard, but it also allows you to know which learning methods work.
