Learning to ride a bike is not the easiest thing in the world. There are many struggles that come along with learning. The struggles include figuring out your balance without training wheels and falling down. Going from a bike with training wheels to a two wheeler is difficult and requires tons of practice. Adding to the struggle of balance is falling down and skinning your knees. Trying to get back on the bike and ride again is terrifying after you keep falling.
To begin to learn I was set on the bike, pushed by my brother into a rolling motion and told to pedal. The balance seemed to be the hardest part for me, trying to figure it out took forever. I did not even have enough, even to put my foot down as I was falling, I tipped right over.
The struggles do not help the learning process, all the failure, it made me want to give up. I could not stand the sting of the peroxide on my knees after every fall. Which made me to want accomplish it even more. During the exhausted learning process I found out that a wide sidewalk is a necessity. Repetition, skinned knee after skinned knee, is what finally made it click.
